 I really like the vibe of the Green Muse, but Halcyon has much more comfortable seating available...for that matter, typically when I go to Green Muse, there is almost no seating available at all. I quite like Halcyon for the people-watching & seating, but I'd spend more time at Green Muse if the seating was improved. (more couches, etc) - Exstus , posted 08/01/06 |

I'm partial to the Green Muse, as I remember when it was the "503", and lived nearby. Now I no longer live near it, and it's under new ownership, but I occasionally drop in. I have to agree with Lucas's review a bit regarding the "attitude" of employees. Some places fancy themselves "special". Some places deserve it, but it ain't 'cuz of the people! Still, in all, if the Muse were in my 'hood, I'd be a regular for the atmosphere and tasty beverages. - Captain , posted 11/10/05 |

sure, it's well decorated and has a nice atmosphere; any coffee shop worth it's salt has that. i find the people working there to be more surly than other places i've been. very few coffee shops will give you more than indifference when you go up to the counter, which is fine, you give them indifference back and everyone is indifferent. but for some reason the people at the muse are always in some kind of mood, it seems to range from surly to straight up contempt. i've tried being friendly, being indifferent, and even mirroring their behavior, doesn't matter. thanks guys, but i live 5 mins away, the floors in my house are stained the exact same color, and my teapot isn't rude to me when i use it. - lukas adrian , posted 02/16/05 |

Of the several coffee shops in S. Austin, this is the best one when it comes to: 1. Studying. 2. Cleanliness. 3. Wireless. 4. Parking. 5. Seating. Compared to the other S.A.C.S.'s, which are very noisy, Ruta Mia is too boistrous, no way you can study. Bouldin has terrible seating, and is really a restaurant. Flipnotics is pretentious. Jo's is complicated and involved. Green Muse has much smoother atmosphere. If it's a Coffee Shop you are looking for, this one is best. - ahmed , posted 11/04/04 |
