From the outside, the building is a bit scary- but once you walk in the front doors, you are greeted by the sweetest restaurant owners you'll ever meet. And the food is fantastic! Clean enough for this mostly raw vegan to eat if I'm cheating (no preservatives, msg, etc.- and I'm insanely sensitive to those t hings!) Green curry is sublime.  This little wonder of a hole in the wall is walking distance from my house. That at the "grandma's cookin" feel of the food make it the best Thai I've ever had. I recomemnd the lunch buffet. The selections are few but are kept fresh. Each meat dish has a vegetarian counterpart (which seems to be a theme at Thai buffets). The menu service for dinner is quality food with less than adequate service. They are new to the business and haven't quite got a wait staff trained. It really is just three people running a 15 table restaurant. Their friendlyness and the food make up for it but be patient. For the earthy-crunchy Austin types, this place "feels" right. It is warm and comfortable in a way that cannot be credited to the air conditioning and decor. Both of these work just fine, mind you. - Unsubscribed , posted 01/19/06 |
